The historic Union Hotel in La Porte has been completely remodeled to reflect it's Gold Rush heritage. Surrounded by the Plumas National Forest, La Porte (Population 35) is a tiny mountain community situated on the banks of Rabbit Creek. Miners still pan for gold on the banks but the jewel of the area is Little Grass Valley Lake just three miles from the hotel where you can fish and swim.
With the many renovations that have taken place at the hotel since 1906, each of the 21 rooms are different in size and shape.Somer rooms are Old World style with antiques and artwork. Others are more modern.
