
A restored and distinctively decorated colonial landmark, is near the center of New Canaan and its variety of shops and historic sites.
The Inn is named for Roger Sherman, whose niece, Martha Sherman, lived in the house from its building in 1783 until 1806. Her father, the Reverend Josiah Sherman, was a chaplain during the Revolutionary War. Roger Sherman, a lawyer and delegate from Connecticut to the Continental Congress, had the distinction of being the only person to sign all four of the historical American documents:
