The Highland Inn is much like European inns, offering rooms along North Highland Avenue.
The building itself dates back to 1927, when it was built as a residential hotel for young ladies coming to Atlanta for employment. In the 1930s and 40s, it went by the name "Wynn Hotel." Named for its owner, Henry Wynn. After changing names and ownership a few times, local businessman, Thomas B. Carmichael bought the building in 1993 and set out to renovate the structure.
