Located 10 miles from the village of Bethel, Maine, the Telemark Inn was built at the turn of the century in the midst of a stand of white birches as a hand-crafted Adirondack-style lodge by Leon Blanchard, founder of Prudential Insurance. It is surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest.
The historic inn's interior has been preserved complete with its original rooms fully paneled in Norway Pine. Each of the six guest rooms is different, and each features unique hand-built cabinetry. The living room is warmed by a huge mineral stone fireplace, glinting with mica and granite. The dining room features the original antique seven foot, round cherry wood table. The Telemark Inn maintains its own organic vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens.
