The Silver Forest Inn opened here in 1990. A winding log-lined path leads the visitor to this historic log home tucked into the side of a timbered knoll with the Bridger Mountain Range as its backdrop. A three-story log turret, reminiscent of the Victorian era. A fieldstone fiddle-back fireplace, sloped wood ceilings supported by decorative log trusses, hand hewn log walls and a rustic staircase.
The home was originally built in 1932 by an enterprising dreamer, who envisioned a summer artist's colony and school of drama and art on his Silver Forest land. A large personal residence was built out of large pine logs.
