The inn is located in New Hampshire's
White Mountains. For almost fifty years the quarry located behind the inn was
one of the nation's major suppliers of high-quality red and green granite. The
results were used for many notable structures including Grant's Tomb in New
York City, the Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia, and railroad stations
in Denver, Colorado and Portland, Maine. By 1940 the quarry began its journey
into obscurity and is ow closed.
91 units, which include a wide variety of room types and condominiums. All rooms
have private baths, color cable TV, individual heat/air conditioning, and telephones.
A new wing was built, a conference center with a 100-person capacity was added,
and 6 adjacent condominiums were purchased to bring the hotel to its 91 rooms.
